Designed by Microsoft's Vincent Connare, this is a face based on the lettering from comic magazines.
  • Webdings - View
    | Tokyo | London | USA
Webdings was designed in 1997 as a collaborative work between Microsoft's Vincent Connare and top Monotype designers Sue Lightfoot, Ian Patterson and Geraldine Wade. The images are intended for web designers who wish to include live fonts as a fast way of rendering graphics. They are also extremely useful for graphic artists and comic book artists as they include a number of useful shapes, and designs.

Trebuchet, designed by Vincent Connare in 1996, is a humanist sans serif designed for easy screen readability. Trebuchet takes its inspiration from the sans serifs of the 1930s which had large x heights and round features intended to promote readability on signs.

The mildly pleasant result is a font I call simply "Balloon Lettering," in two faces, Normal and Stressed. It is loosely based on Richard Starkings' font "ComicCrazy," with some ideas stolen from two of his other fonts, "AstroCity" and "WildWords."
  • Yikes - View

Yikes! is probably best suited to sound effects and some whimsical special effects. It's modeled after ComiCraft's "Zoinks!," but has several additions and modifications of my own, to make it more than just a one-trick pony.

Gnat Font, a first attempt at building a custom font using Fontographer. It's clunky, held together with duct tape and crazy glue but it's a lot nicer than any thing else out there (at least I think so...but I also made it) and it's 100% FREE!!! Free the world baby!!

  • Photoshop CMYK Palette (Marvel Try-Out Book) - View
    Direct Nexus.com server - PC / MAC
This is the Photoshop palette I created based on the color guide in the Marvel Try-Out book second edition. I tried my best to match all the CMYK values Marvel apparently uses for it's coloring process. After going over the values represented however, this is at best, a good place to start, but you shouldn't end here. Marvel uses CMYK % increments as small as 5% - 10%. This palette represents a subset of these values.
