Dear Figma Community,
Figma’s vision is to make design accessible to everyone. As the lines between home and work have blurred over the past few months, we’ve seen more Figma engagement than ever before. In addition to interface design, customers are using Figma for tasks like visual whiteboarding, diagramming and slide creation. We’ve also witnessed the birth of new use cases like virtual design sprinting, city building, and even Minecraft skin creation.
Today, I’m excited to share that Figma has raised a $50M Series D round of funding, led by Peter Levine and Marc Andreessen at a16z. Existing investors Index, Greylock, KPCB, Sequoia and Founders Fund also participated. Finally, Henry Ellenbogen from Durable Capital and a number of incredible angel investors also joined the round.
This new capital will help us double down on our core design and prototyping platform to ensure Figma is the most powerful — and reliable — way for teams to create together. We will also explore new ways to serve our global community — designers and non-designers alike — by building dedicated products for an expanded set of use cases around visual communication and creativity.
Given the context of COVID-19, we’re thankful for the opportunity to accelerate our work here at Figma. If you’re interested in helping us achieve our vision, we’re hiring — please check out our careers page.
Stay safe,
Dylan
