Figma Standards of Conduct

Purpose

The Figma Standards of Conduct reflect some of the ways we put Figma’s values into practice, containing principles to promote (1) environmental stewardship, (2) diversity and equal opportunity, (3) compliance with law, (4) respect for human rights and safe working conditions, and (5) integrity and ethical conduct in the workplace. These Standards of Conduct articulate Figma’s commitment to these important principles.

1. Environmental Standards

Figma is conscious of its impact on the environment and aspires to minimize its negative impacts to preserve our natural resources for future generations.

1.1. Comply with all applicable environmental laws

Figma complies with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and standards relating to the impact of its business on the environment.

1.2. Reduce Negative Environmental Impact

Figma aspires to reduce its negative environmental impact through development and use of environmentally friendly technologies and practices. For example, Figma encourages and supports remote working practices which help minimise unnecessary emissions from commuting in fossil fuel vehicles.

2. Best People

Figma aims to attract and develop talent for our business regardless of individual characteristics.

2.1. Do not discriminate in employment or hiring practices

Figma strives to maintain an inclusive environment for all regardless of any protected category. To that end, Figma does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, age, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, nationality, social or ethnic origin, marital status, pregnancy, disability, HIV/AIDS status, political affiliation, personal beliefs, or union membership. Figma complies with all applicable laws prohibiting such discrimination. These commitments are reflected in the Figmanual (Figma’s Employee Handbook), which encourages employees to be collaborative, respectful, kind, welcoming, and thoughtful human beings in conducting themselves at work.

2.2. Complete required training

Figma helps its employees to comply with our Standards of Conduct by ensuring that employees take Figma-provided training when required (for example, when they interact with customers or have access to customer data). Figma conducts mandatory training for Figma employees and contractors, at least annually, on ethics, privacy, and information security awareness. These trainings are reviewed and updated annually.

3. Compliance with Laws

Figma maintains policies designed to ensure compliance with laws and regulations that apply to its business.

3.1. Applicable competition laws

Figma maintains policies designed to comply with applicable competition laws. In particular, Figma will not propose or enter into any agreement with any competitor to fix prices, margins, terms and conditions, or to divide up any markets or customers.

3.2. Applicable international trade controls

Figma maintains policies designed to comply with applicable trade laws, including laws that control the import, export, and re-export of products and information, and laws that restrict dealings with entities and individuals located in countries subject to trade embargoes or economic sanctions.

3.3. Applicable anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing laws

Figma maintains policies designed to comply with applicable anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing laws, and does not engage in or assist any third parties with such activities.

3.4. Protect the privacy of personal information

Figma is committed to the protection of personal privacy and complies with applicable privacy and data protection laws of the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom to which a customer’s personal data are subject. Figma uses industry standard processes to secure user data against unauthorized access and use and works under the principle that any use, sharing, or retention of personal data must be supported by, or based on, consent or a legitimate, business purpose.

4. Respect for the Individual

Figma values diversity, promotes an inclusive environment, and treats people with respect and dignity.

4.1. Treat people with dignity and respect

Figma respects internationally recognized human rights as expressed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (available at https://www.un.org/en/about-us/universal-declaration-of-human-rights) and the principles concerning fundamental rights set out in the International Labor Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (available at

http://www.ilo.org/declaration/lang--en/index.htm). Accordingly, Figma treats people with dignity and respect, and maintains a respectful and safe workplace. Figma does not tolerate physical violence, threats, corporal punishment, mental coercion, verbal abuse, disrespectful behavior, bullying, or harassment (whether or not such harassment is legally prohibited on the basis of protected characteristics).

4.2. Allow employees the freedom of association and collective bargaining

Figma recognizes and respects the right of its people to freely join or refrain from joining worker organizations of their choosing and entering into collective bargaining as permitted by law.

4.3. Do not use, encourage or engage in human trafficking, slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labor, or child labor

Figma is committed to ensuring that its business operates in a socially responsible way that prevents slavery and human trafficking. Figma is also committed to playing its part in helping the world develop practices designed to combat slavery and human trafficking.

Figma does not use, encourage, or engage in human trafficking, slavery, servitude, forced, bonded, compulsory, indentured, or involuntary labor. Our employees voluntarily agree to the terms and conditions of their employment without coercion, and can freely terminate their employment either (i) immediately without notice, or (ii) on reasonable notice (required notice periods are always set out in employment contracts and vary in relation to the seniority of the employee and the requirements of local laws).

Figma does not use, encourage, or engage in human trafficking. Figma does not, among other things: destroy, conceal, confiscate, or otherwise deny employees’ access to identity or immigration documents; charge workers recruiting fees; employ recruiters that violate labor laws; provide housing that fails to meet safety or housing laws; use fraudulent or misleading recruitment practices; or fail to provide written work documents, where required.

Figma do not use, encourage, or engage child labor. Child labor means labor that deprives children of their childhood, their potential and their dignity, and that is harmful to their physical or mental development. Many countries have a minimum age for employment or work — Figma understands and respects those requirements. Figma may operate workplace apprenticeship, work experience or internship programs that comply with applicable laws.

4.4. Lawful Employment

Figma, as part of employing any worker, validates and reviews all relevant documentation to ensure that such worker has the legal right to work in that jurisdiction.

4.5. Applicable laws relating to employment

Figma provides wages, benefits and overtime pay that comply with all local wage and hour laws and regulations including those relating to minimum wages, overtime hours, and other elements of compensation, and provide legally mandated benefits. In addition, Figma pays its employees a living wage, which will be higher than the legal minimum wage requirement and will take into account relevant actual above-average market data.

4.6. Provide a safe, healthy work environment

Figma is committed to the health and safety of its people and visitors to its work locations. Figma maintains policies designed to comply with applicable health and safety laws, provides a safe, healthy working environment, and takes the necessary precautions to protect everyone from workplace injuries and occupational disease.

5. Integrity

Figma seeks to inspire trust by taking responsibility, acting ethically, and encouraging honest and open debate in the way it does business and interacts with its suppliers, staff, and customers.

5.1. Anti-corruption

Figma is committed to conducting business free from extortion, bribery, and similar unlawful, unethical, or fraudulent activity. Figma instructs its employees not to offer, give, promise, or authorize any bribe, gift, loan, fee, reward, or other advantage to any government official or employee, any customer, or any other person to obtain any business or improperly influence any action or decision. Figma maintains policies designed to comply with applicable international anti-corruption laws and regulations, including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the U.K. Bribery Act 2010.

5.2. Ethical dealings

Figma endeavors not to make any false representations in connection with any business transaction including utilization of false documentation such as non-genuine customer purchase orders, fraudulent or forged contracts, forged letters of destruction, or any other false or inaccurate records. Figma encourages a culture of transparency within its organization and encourages employees to speak up with legal or ethical concerns, both through line management channels and/or formal reporting channels.

6. Where to Go for Help

Figma reserves the right to update these standards from time to time to reflect changes in the business or regulatory climate. If you have questions about the Figma Standards of Conduct or would like to report a suspected violation, please contact Figma at standardsofconduct@figma.com.
